Xiaomi launched first two new budget smartphones in it’s Y series targeted for Youths of India. These phones are also called selfie phones and Redmi Y1 comes with a 16 Megapixels front camera and a LED selfie flash where as Redmi Y1 Lite comes with a 5 Megapixels camera as we have seen in similar budget smartphones launched earlier from Xiaomi.
Both the phones, Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite comes with a 5.5 inch screen and a resolution of 720×1280 pixels. These are the first phones under ₹10000 to come with a 5.5 inch HD display from Xiaomi. Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A launched earlier this year comes with a 5 inch display. Both the phones comes with a dedicated SD card slot as opposed to earlier phones in which were having a shared slot for second sim and SD card.

Redmi Y1 is priced at ₹8999 for 3GB RAM and 32GB Internal Storage variant and 4GB RAM and 64GB Internal Storage is priced at ₹10999. Redmi Y1 Lite comes in one configuration only which is 2GB RAM and 16GB storage and is priced at ₹6999. Both the phones Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite will be available exclusively on Amazon and will go on sale on Amazon and mi.com from Nov 8. Later on, they will be available on offline channels as well.
